Thy Kingdom Come

21-31 May 2020: Ascension to Pentecost             Download an information leaflet here

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who takes part will:
     • Pray for God’s spirit to work in the lives of those they know
     • Come to realise that every aspect of their life is underpinned by prayer

After the very first Ascension Day the disciples gathered with Mary, constantly devoting themselves to prayer while they waited for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Like them, our reliance on the gift of the Holy Spirit is total – on our own we can do nothing.
Archbishop Justin Welby says: “In praying 'Thy Kingdom Come' we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities.

There are lots of ideas and resources here  or you could try some of these:

** Identify five people to pray for during the period

** Tie a strip of cloth or a ribbon to the church fence to mark your prayers and join with the prayers of others in our community

**  Download and follow the family prayer adventure map

          ** Pray at home:
              • Create a space to pray, perhaps with a centrepeice reminding you of the people and places you want to pray for
              • Keep a prayer journal
              • Create a wrist band with a knot for each of the people on your heart

** Join our prayer walk around the parish: find a map here
